Safety Responsibilities


Employees are responsible for:

  • Inspecting equipment prior to use
  • Reporting hazards and incidents
  • Exercising stop work authority where required
  • Maintaining fit-for-duty standards
  • Participating in emergency response procedures where trained and authorized.


Safety is considered a shared responsibility between the company and its workers.


Employer Responsibilities


Vertex Building Maintenance recognizes that maintaining safe operations requires ongoing commitment and support from both the company and its workers.

Where reasonably practicable, the company will make reasonable efforts to:


  • Provide appropriate training, supervision, and guidance
  • Maintain safe work practices and procedures
  • Provide appropriate equipment and PPE
  • Support hazard identification and risk reduction
  • Encourage reporting of hazards, incidents, and safety concerns
  • Support stop work authority and worker participation in safety
  • Maintain a respectful and safety-focused workplace culture

Confidentiality & Security


Employees may have access to confidential or sensitive information including:

  • Keys, fobs, or access devices
  • Building security information
  • Internal payroll or personnel information


Employees are expected to protect confidential and security-sensitive information and use such information only for authorized company purposes.


Workers shall not share or misuse confidential information, access credentials, or security-related information without authorization.


Professional Conduct & Ethical Standards


Employees are expected to maintain professional and ethical conduct during all company operations.


Workers shall:


  • Maintain respectful workplace behavior
  • Maintain honesty and integrity during operations
  • Support teamwork and mentorship
  • Avoid conduct that intentionally harms the company, workers, clients, or the industry
  • Maintain professionalism while representing Vertex Building Maintenance


The company supports continued worker growth and professional development within the industry and encourages workers to pursue long-term success through safe, professional, and ethical practices.


Company Property


Employees may be issued company property including:


  • Rope access equipment
  • PPE
  • Radios
  • Keys or access devices
  • Vehicles or trailers
  • Tools and operational equipment


Workers are responsible for:


  • Maintaining company property appropriately
  • Reporting damage or loss immediately
  • Returning company property upon request or termination of employment.


Termination & Resignation


Employees may resign employment at any time in accordance with applicable legislation and reasonable notice expectations where practicable.


Upon resignation or termination, workers may be required to:


  • Return company property
  • Return keys, fobs, or access devices
  • Return company documents or records where applicable


Final payroll and employment matters shall be handled in accordance with applicable legislation.


Acknowledgement


By signing this agreement, the employee acknowledges that they:


  • Have reviewed and understood the terms of employment
  • Understand company expectations and responsibilities
  • Agree to follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Understand that employment standards and operational requirements may evolve as the company grows.
