General Requirements
Workers shall:
- Access only authorized areas
- Maintain control of keys, fobs, and access devices
- Secure roof hatches, doors, and restricted access points
- Follow client or site-specific access procedures
- Maintain professional conduct while on client property
Unauthorized persons shall not be permitted within controlled work or roof access areas.
Keys, Fobs & Access Devices
Keys, fobs, access cards, or security credentials provided by clients shall:
- Be used only for authorized work activities
- Be protected from loss or unauthorized use
- Be returned in accordance with client or company procedures
- Not be duplicated or shared without authorization
Lost or compromised access devices shall be reported immediately.
Roof Access & Restricted Areas
Roof hatches, access doors, gates, and restricted access points shall:
- Remain secured where reasonably practicable
- Be monitored during active operations where public exposure exists
- Be closed and secured upon completion of work activities
Additional precautions shall be taken on:
- Public access roofs
- Occupied buildings
- Construction sites
- Areas with tenant or pedestrian access
Workers shall not allow unauthorized persons onto roofs or controlled work areas.
Tenant Privacy & Professional Conduct
Workers shall:
- Respect tenant privacy and occupied spaces
- Avoid unnecessary access to restricted or occupied areas
- Maintain professional communication with tenants, clients, contractors, and the public
- Report security or privacy concerns immediately
Photography or recording within client properties shall not occur unless authorized for operational or documentation purposes.
Alarm Systems & Site Security
Where alarm systems or security systems are present:
- Workers shall follow client instructions and access procedures
- Alarm codes or security information shall remain confidential
- Security concerns or accidental activations shall be reported immediately
Workers shall ensure:
- Access points are secured upon departure
- Work areas are left safe and organized
- No unauthorized access remains possible following operations
Contractor Sign-In Procedures
Where required by the client or site:
- Workers shall sign in and out appropriately
- Visitor or contractor procedures shall be followed
- Required identification or permits shall be maintained
Supervisors shall ensure workers understand site-specific access requirements prior to beginning work.

Non-Compliance
Failure to follow site security or building access procedures may result in disciplinary action, removal from site, loss of site access privileges, or termination of employment or contract.
